The Cosmos announced this afternoon that they have signed former Seattle Sounders Goalkeeper, Bryan Meredith.
Meredith, 24, has made in 3 appearances this season for IK Brage in the second tier of Swedish Football.
Last year, the New Jersey native appeared in 12 games for Seattle where he had 18 saves and 3 clean sheets.
Meredith was initially drafted by the Sounders in 2011 but was later released after losing out on the 3rd goalkeeping spot on the squad. He then played for the Kitsap Pumas of the PDL before returning to Seattle.
Last week, The Cosmos signed Scott Angevine to a 1-day contract to back up starting goalkeeper Kyle Reynish in Ft. Lauderdale due to an unspecified injury. It’s unclear whether the Meredith signing is associated with that injury.
Meredith will wear the number 29.
